Seas The Day!

I am still trying to organise my new craft room but thought I would start to share the beautiful hand crafted cards I received when I retired. This first card has been made by Karen Ballantine, and I love it!  It’s a “Triple Twist Impossible Card” which you can see how to make if you watch this video here.
Karen has decorated hers on a nautical theme. I am always drawn to sea related crafting products! Karen has cleverly used her Dreamweaver stencils and Dreamweaver Pearlised embossing paste to create the images.
The back of the card has been decorated to match and includes the new Woodware Nautical Collage stamp which I know lots of you have. Karen has also used the other new Woodware Sea Shells stamp for other images. I like the subtle stamped tone on tone bubble background which adds another layer of interest.
Thank you for making me such a wonderful card Karen. It is a great reminder that I need a trip to the seaside soon!

So Many Cards!

I thought you might like to see all the sample card club and demo cards that we have created over the years at A Maze of Memories.

Most will be going to charities, but I think it may take quite a while to sort them out, find envelopes and put them in plastic bags!

Colour Layering Elephants

My favourite animal is the elephant so I just could not resist this brand new Hero Arts stamp set with coordinating dies. Here is my first card using the set:
The elephants were really easy to line up and stamp. I started with the solid background and used London Fog Memento ink. Then I stamped the shading stamp on top using Memento Grey Flannel ink. The third layer is the simple black outline. I used my stamp press and was surprised to find how easy the stamps were to line up perfectly.
I used the coordinating dies to cut out the elephants and balloon. I have layered the elephants onto an embossed resist stencilled background made with the map stamp from the Creative Stamping Life’s and Adventure set.
I think I will be using these elephants a lot! Watching elephants in their natural habitat is on my bucket list so this set will be ideal for scrapbook layouts in the future as well as visits to the zoo!

Hopping Bye to Say Hi!

Linda Clare has created a really cute Easter card for her granddaughter.
The scene has been created with a mix of different dies including Creative Expressions, Elizabeth Crafts and Lawn Fawn:
The backgrounds behind the card is a double sided 12×12 patterned paper available in our half price sale! Thanks for sharing your sweet card with us Linda.

Butterfly Backgrounds!

Julie Staves has created two beautiful cards with interesting backgrounds that she has created with embossing powder!
This first card features a new Creative Expressions 3D embossing folder.  Julie has swiped the raised surface with clear ink and then added gold embossing powder.
After heating the effect is really rich and opulent:
Julies second card features the Woodware stained glass background stamp designed by Francoise Read. Julie has heat embossed it in white and added distress inks over the top. The embossed white lines resist the ink and give a very pretty effect.
Both cards were finished with embossed butterflies – also from a Woodware stamp set. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely cards Julie.

Pop Up Cake Card

Our very own Jane Towse has been playing with some new goodies and has created this impressive 21st birthday card.

Open the card to reveal the pop up cake!

The Happy Birthday is a Creative Expressions die which Jane has shadowed:

The cake itself is a Karen Burniston set. I like the way Jane has added a 21 at the top of the cake.

Such a brilliant card Jane. Thanks for sharing.

VW Camper Van

Jenny Williams has combined the February stepped card design with images from the March Magathon “Life’s an Adventure” stamp collection and created this lovely card for a friend!
A great way to use up some pretty papers.
This second card was one Jenny made for Magathon this week. It again features pretty papers and a paper pieced VW:

Thanks for sharing Jenny. Two lovely cards.

My Mothers Day Card

I thought I would share the card I made for my mum. It is 8×8 and quite a simple design. I used a pretty piece of double sided 12×12 patterned paper for the backing and created a “shelf” using the reverse of the paper plus the cut away strip!

All the flowers and the flower pots were die cut from white card which I then coloured with a combination of inks and my zig pens.

The words (from Creative Expressions die sets) were mounted on a die cut heart cut from white pearlised card.

I stacked three of each word and glued them together for more dimension. I find this much easier than using small foam pads which might show.

I did use small foam pads to layer the flowers together. I added a bit of sparkle to the flower centres.

The inside of the card (and the envelope) was decorated to match with a combination of stamping and die cuts:

I enjoyed making the card and my mum loved it!

Nina’s “Bargain” Just For You Card

Nina Lavelle from Creativity has used one of her bargain stamps from A Maze of Memories and created this bright and colourful card. I love the spring time colours.
This is the Hero Arts cling stamp Nina used. Any greeting can be used in the space.
I like the way the edges have been glittered and the flower stamped several times and then layered to create dimension.
The image was coloured with Zig clean color real brush bens. The stamped image has been layered onto two embossed panels.
Thanks Nina for the inspiration.

Happy Birthday Traci!

It’s Traci Mortimer’s birthday today so I thought I would share Traci’s latest design with you. This really made me laugh!
Traci has used the new Creative Expressions tractor and farm animals for her card, plus the new coordinating stamp set for the greeting. The sun and clouds are lawn fawn dies. Plus a few additions. Brilliant!!!
Happy Birthday Traci – enjoy your special day!
